The Role
We are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic Assistant Safeguarding Officer to join our dedicated team of support during a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will support the Safeguarding Officer and wider team to implement safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures and ensure procedures and practice across the Academy fully meet statutory requirements. We pride ourselves on high expectations, a commitment to ensuring pupil progress and high‑quality teaching and learning. You will share these values.
Qualifications
* Educated to A level / NVQ 3 standard or relevant mentoring work experience – Essential
* A nationally recognised diploma in Counselling following a minimum two years training – Desirable
Skills
* Experience/Knowledge: Ability to establish successful relationships at all levels – Essential
* Ability to monitor pupil progress and attainment – Essential
* Experience of working in a multi‑agency setting – Essential
* Experienced in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email – Essential
* Experience of supporting colleagues – Essential
* Experience working in a school – Desirable
* Ability to apply competently and confidently knowledge and skills in all level of meetings – Essential
* Demonstrate knowledge of key factors affecting the safeguarding of students and the impact on learning and progress – Essential
* Understanding and awareness of current educational developments – Essential
* A working knowledge of ICT in Information and Management Systems – Desirable
* Ability to prioritise, plan, organise & evaluate the work of specific areas of the schools – Essential
