About Our Client
My client is an excellent employer in Cheltenham with an outstanding market reputation. They are market leaders in their field.
Job Description
The key responsibilities in this role include:
* Management of External Audit and Statutory Reporting Processes for the subsidiary.
* Quarterly preparation of VAT returns.
* Responsible for corporate tax filings, liaising with Group Tax for tax computation, providing additional analysis and support.
* Ensuring a robust control environment compliant with Group guidelines, overseeing activities with Internal Audit, and working with Operational Finance on remediation.
* Ownership of subsidiary budgets and forecasts, including reporting processes.
* Preparation of balance sheet forecasts.
* Review and reporting of performance against plan and forecasts.
* Monthly management reporting, including internal submission to Group.
* Ownership and continuous improvement of balance sheet reconciliations.
Other requirements for Group:
* Support on external reporting, including insurance info, branch filings, ONS returns, and reconciliation reviews.
* Support Finance Reporting team with ad-hoc projects, reports, and analysis.
* Assist with intercompany recharges, cost allocations, and related accounting development.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:
* Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
* Experience in a technical accounting role preferred.
* Proficiency with accounting software.
* Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
* Ability to interpret financial reports and conduct variance analysis.
* Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation in accordance with FRS 102 or IFRS.
* Knowledge of regulatory and tax compliance.
