About Us
We are a fast-paced and growing animal feed wholesaler supplying a wide range of feed and bedding products to retailers, merchants, and equine professionals. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a driven and customer-focused Sales Account Manager to join our busy sales team.
The Role
This is a dynamic, desk-based sales role within a high-volume, fast-moving environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, driving new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer service.
This position requires someone who thrives under pressure, can multitask effectively, and maintains attention to detail in a busy sales office.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Management
1. Manage a portfolio of existing wholesale accounts
2. Proactively generate new business opportunities
3. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across product ranges
4. Build strong, long-term customer relationships
Sales Desk Duties
5. Process inbound and outbound sales orders/purchase orders accurately and efficiently
6. Handle high volumes of phone and email enquiries
7. Provide product advice and pricing information
8. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams regarding stock and deliveries
9. Manage customer queries, complaints, and returns professionally
10. Maintain accurate customer records on internal systems
11. Monitor stock levels and communicate availability to customers
12. Support credit control with payment follow-ups where required
Administrative & Operational
13. Maintain detailed sales records and reports
14. Support promotional campaigns and seasonal sales drives
15. Keep up to date with product knowledge and market trends
Skills & Experience Required
16. Previous experience in a sales or account management role
17. Experience within animal feed, agricultural, or equine sectors preferred (equine knowledge advantageous but not essential)
18. Strong customer service skills
19. Ability to work in a very busy, high-pressure environment
20. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
21. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
22. Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office – most notably Excel
23. Self-motivated with a proactive approach
