Role Overview
The Social Media Manager leads the planning, delivery and performance of Muddy Stilettos' social media channels, ensuring consistent and premium-level brand voice, audience growth and high-quality content across national and regional accounts.
This role leads social media strategy and manages day-to-day social operations, supports regional editors, and works closely with editorial and commercial teams to deliver engaging content and successful campaigns across platforms. Building audience size and engagement across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Lead social media strategy to grow follower audience, engagement and brand reach across platforms across HQ and Regional feeds including Instagram/TikTok/Facebook, Pinterest, X, LinkedIn.
Lead development of Muddy's influencer strategy including how to develop @Herobrown_Muddy and also best optimisation of regional feeds with our Editors
Manage, prioritise and support the HQ social team on a day-to-day basis.
Plan and schedule HQ's national and multi-regional social content across all 70+ feeds.
Oversee delivery of social content for Editorial, Muddy's brand campaigns and commercial partnerships.
Approve HQ social copy, imagery and video content prior to posting to ensure brand and quality standards.
Create, film and oversee HQ Editorial and Muddy brand social campaign scripts, video concepts and content assets.
Oversee and implement Muddy brand campaigns throughout the year include: Muddy Awards, Schools Awards, Hello Summer, Summer Lovin', 12 Days of Christmas, Weekend Escapes, Happy & Healthy, HTMB, Cars Reviews Supercharged – these will be assigned across the team.
Guide sourcing of free and library video, image music content to ensure wide and consistent choice and cost effective use of budget.
Coordinate social collaboration opportunities with clients and partners.
Oversee the running of all social media competitions so they are fully compliant across social platforms (Instagram/Facebook) to grow followers in collaboration with website entries.
With Social team, monitor Editors' regional feeds and provide monthly feedback to Editors
Train and support regional editors in social best practice, including weekly Instagram content and competitions.
Provide support to launch new accounts or temporarily unmanaged regional accounts.
Repurpose and optimise regional content across platforms, including Instagram and TikTok.
Oversee group analysis of campaigns, to assess what did well, where systems could be improved to managed work flow and remove possibility of error.
Attend campaign and planning meetings to align social delivery with editorial and commercial activity.
Monitor social trends, share, develop and trial new content opportunities.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing large portfolio of multiple social media accounts for a brand or media platform
Proven strategic experience and track record of implementing changes in the social media space to grow a brand reach, engagement and followers
Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok and Facebook content performance optimisation
Strong understanding of social schedule and analysis platforms such as Sprout Social, Buffer, etc
Excellent copy writing, script writing, creative judgement and visual content awareness
Strong social content filming and editing skills (iPhone or DV camera)
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
Flexibility to manage changing publishing priorities and short lead times
Experience managing or supporting team members
Commercial awareness and ability to balance editorial and sponsored content
Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused working style
