The Role
As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for producing accurate, reliable, and unbiased demand forecasts across short, medium, and long-term horizons. You will manage fast-moving SKUs with short shelf lives, responding to frequent daily and weekly demand changes.
Working closely with Commercial, Supply Planning, Category teams, and customers, you will ensure demand plans align with operational realities and business goals.
This role is hands-on, dynamic, and critical to operational performance, with the opportunity to drive improvements in forecasting processes and supply chain planning.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Demand Management
1. Own the end-to-end demand forecast for Hot Eat Desserts and Soup at SKU, customer, and category level
2. Manage daily and weekly demand fluctuations, including promotional uplift, customer orders, and EPOS trends
3. Produce and maintain statistical and consensus forecasts across daily, weekly, and monthly horizons
4. Monitor and challenge forecast accuracy and bias, identifying root causes of deviations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
5. Work closely with Supply, Production Planning, and Site teams in Clitheroe and Grimsby
6. Partner with Commercial and Category teams to understand promotions, new product launches, and delists
7. Contribute insights and data to S&OP / IBP meetings
Data & Systems
8. Maintain data integrity across forecasting systems and tools
9. Analyse EPOS data, shipments, phasing, and run rates to ensure demand plans reflect true customer demand
10. Identify and escalate data anomalies or system issues
11. Support continuous improvement in forecasting processes and KPI dashboards
Performance & Reporting
12. Track and analyse forecast accuracy and bias across SKUs, customers, and categories
13. Provide actionable insights to improve forecasting performance
14. Highlight risks and opportunities relating to inventory, service levels, and production capacity
What We’re Looking For
Experience
15. 2–5 years’ experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain roles
16. Experience in FMCG, chilled, or short shelf-life environments preferred
17. Experience managing high-volatility product categories
Skills & Capabilities
18. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
19. Advanced Excel and data analysis capability (experience with forecasting tools preferred)
20. Highly organised with the ability to manage daily operational changes
21. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Education
22. A-Level or Degree level qualification (or equivalent relevant experience)
Working Arrangements
23. Hybrid role – around 3 days per week on site in Clitheroe or Grimsby
24. Occasional travel to other UK sites may be required
