To provide a specialist and advanced nursing contribution to the clinical management of patients with breast cancer across all boundaries.
Main Duties
To provide a specialist service for patients undergoing breast cancer interventions and for those referred for specialist care by medical and nursing staff.
To provide a nurse-led service for patients with a Family History of Breast Cancer and Breast Pain.
To offer a specialist Nurse Led Follow Up Service for Breast Cancer and Family History patients.
To review, diagnose, assess, and treat patients with breast cancer requiring specialist nurse input as part of follow-up care.
Additional Responsibilities
* Contribute to weekly MDT meetings discussing cancer patients' treatment plans and referral decisions.
* Provide counselling, support, information, and education for cancer patients and their carers throughout their journey.

An exciting opportunity for a Breast Care Nurse at Walsall Manor Hospital. The role involves supporting breast cancer patients throughout their journey, managing an independent caseload, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
The post aims to provide a specialist nurse-led service for patients with a family history of breast cancer and breast pain, with leadership responsibilities in team supervision and service development.
Candidate Criteria
* Registered Nurse with a first-level relevant degree.
* Specialist qualification in breast care practice.
* Experience in breast cancer treatment, understanding of treatment options and side effects, preferably within a breast specialty.
* Excellent communication and IT skills.
* Analytical, judgment, and self-management skills.
* Counselling skills training and experience.
* Teaching qualifications (desirable).
Key Duties
* Providing specialist services for breast cancer interventions and referrals.
* Leading and managing the breast nursing team, engaging in service development and audits.
* Practicing holistic assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care.
* Communicating investigation results effectively and sensitively.
* Acting as a role model and clinical leader in breast care.
* Providing advice on wound management and supporting staff and patients throughout the care pathway.
* Engaging in practice evaluation, audit, and continuous improvement.
