A well-established and growing law firm in Manchester is seeking a motivated and compassionate Family Paralegal to join its busy Family Law department. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal who is looking to build a long-term career in family law, with full training provided and a clear view toward a future training contract for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting solicitors with the management of varied and often complex family law caseloads, including divorce, financial remedy proceedings, private children matters, and care proceedings
* Drafting and preparing court documents and applications, including Consent Orders, Forms D81, Form A applications, C2 and Part 25 applications
* Ensuring all court deadlines, hearings, and Orders are accurately diarised and complied with
* Drafting professional correspondence to clients, courts, counsel, and third parties
* Attending client meetings and conferences, taking detailed notes and preparing comprehensive attendance notes
* Assisting with the preparation of witness statements, bundles, schedules, and draft court orders
* Liaising with clients, courts, barristers, experts, and external agencies
* Supporting solicitors with hearing preparation and post-hearing follow-up
* Maintaining accurate and well-organised electronic and paper files in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience working in a family law environment (preferred but not essential)
* Strong interest in family law and a genuine desire to progress toward qualification
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* High level of professionalism, discretion, and empathy when dealing with sensitive matters
