We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our team on a part-time (3 days per week) basis with 1 day SENCO and 2 days class teaching. The successful candidate will be supported by our qualified SENCO Teaching assistant. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement effective SEND strategies, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. Your expertise and leadership will be key in driving an inclusive culture and fostering strong partnerships with staff, parents, and external agencies. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the provision for children with special educational needs at The Ferncumbe CE Primary School. • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students. • Develop and implement individual learning plans, ensuring that students' needs are met effectively. • Provide advice, guidance, and training to staff to enhance inclusive practices across the school. • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, ensuring that they receive appropriate interventions and support. What you'll need to succeed: • You will hold a full UK Qualification for Special Educational Needs Coordination (or equivalent). • Have a proven track record of working effectively with children with SEND. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting staff and students alike. • Hold a full QTS. • Ideally, have experience of being a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and managing Early Helps (Early Support) with vulnerable families. However, this is non-essential and training can be provided.
