Overview
Under the direction of the PI, Research Assistant 1, MS candidate will be a reliable worker who is well organized and efficient. Candidate will assist laboratory personnel with routine lab maintenance at Yale Cardiovascular Research Center. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Proven ability to support research in a laboratory environment.
2. Accurate preparation of solutions, handling of chemical and biological reagents, and scientific instruments.
3. Ability to follow scientific protocols and adhere to all safety regulations.
4. Demonstrated consistency and reliability, including excellent attendance and punctuality. Proven ability to be organized and detail-oriented.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Researches and collects data through experiments, techniques, procedures, library research, structured interviews, or other means; records and compiles information related to research data; codes data accordingly; inputs and retrieves data; generates reports; assists in data interpretation and analysis; reports on research status; sets up, operates, maintains lab equipment; formulates scientific solutions; recruits participants; orders supplies; may assist in designing experiments and oversee research staff; performs additional research-related functions.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience (with specific conditions), or four years of related work experience with an Associate's degree, or little/no experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
