About the Role A multi disciplinary consultancy within the property and construction industry is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join their growing technical team. The role focuses primarily on new build projects within the Social and Affordable Housing sector, with a strong emphasis on quality, compliance and independent working. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who values autonomy and flexibility in how they deliver their work. Youll be trusted to arrange your own site visits, carry out inspections independently and complete reports remotely once your visits are complete. Key Responsibilities: Undertake regular site inspections, ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and quality standards. Identify and report on any defects, non-compliances, or areas of concern, liaising with contractors and project teams to ensure timely resolution. Produce detailed and accurate reports using a tablet based digital reporting system, including photographic evidence. Monitor materials, workmanship and progress, maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Work collaboratively with project managers/employers agents, design teams and clients to ensure delivery excellence. About You: Youll be a proactive and detail oriented professional with strong technical knowledge and a genuine passion for quality assurance. Youll have confidence managing your own workload and communicating effectively across all levels of a project team. Requirements: Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Quality Inspector or similar role within the construction industry. Candidates moving from a Site Manager background have also found success in this role. Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and relevant standards and regulations. IT literate, with the ability to complete and submit digital reports and photographic records via tablet based software. Experience within the Social and Affordable Housing new build sector (highly desirable). Member of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) or willing to work towards membership. Whats on Offer: Salary up to £55k per annum (depending on experience).
