Consultant Radiologist with special interest in Urology YM72 Consultant Job overview Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Uro-Radiologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service within a busy imaging department as part of the Uro-radiology team.
The successful candidate will join a team of 34 other Consultant Radiologists in Bradford and contribute to the non‑vascular interventional on call rota (NVIR) of 1:10.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute services for the City of Bradford and surrounding areas, and has two large Hospitals; Bradford Royal Infirmary and St. Luke’s Hospital and is also part of the Eccleshill Diagnostic Centre. Main duties of the job In addition to specialist UroRadiology service, the appointee will support:
General Acute service: Radiologists are expected to contribute to the weekly rota to provide Duty Radiologist or Inpatient CT or MR hot reporting. They are expected to check overnight on call reports and support trainees with acute general reporting.
Intervention on call: There are currently 6 radiologists on the NVIR rota providing a 1:10 service with locum gaps. Interventions most commonly performed are nephrostomy, abdominal and chest drainages and chest drain for pneumothorax, supported by radiographic and nursing staff. There is a separate Vascular IR rota.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities The appointee will work closely with three colleagues with special interest in Uro‑radiology, Urologists and Renal Medicine physicians at Bradford Teaching Hospitals. Specialist activities include Stone MDT, Urology Cancer MDT, and all Uro‑interventions including Trans perineal prostate biopsies and Nephrostomy.

The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a Consultant’s duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It should cover all aspects of a Consultant’s professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It should provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition, it should include personal objectives including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the support required by the Consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. The provisional job plan is set out below. This will be based on the nationally agreed whole‑time contract.
