Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Acute Oncology Nursing Team
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Acute Oncology Nursing Team. The post holder will triage oncology patients and provide a direct and indirect out‑reach acute oncology service for NHS Tayside.
Responsibilities
* Triage patients at home and review unscheduled patients within the triage unit when required.
* Work autonomously and demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and management of the acutely unwell patient.
* Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, communicating with nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other specialists.
* Provide assessment and intervention for patients with cancer and treatment toxicity, working with patients and carers to prevent or facilitate admission where appropriate.
* Participate in flexible working arrangements to meet the needs of the service.
Qualifications
* UK NMC Registered Level 1 Adult Nurse with extensive post registration experience within an acute care setting.
* Experience in Oncology is desirable but not essential.
* Evidence of continuing professional development, excellent clinical knowledge, leadership and communication skills.
* Candidate is currently a Band 7 and will undertake the required education and supervised practice to develop competence as an ANP.
