TITLE OF VACANCY:
Leisure Sales Manager, Moloney & Kelly DMC, Edinburgh based (Hybrid)
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The role of Sales Manager has a range of responsibilities aimed at building the Moloney & Kelly brand and developing and strengthening partnerships with the Consortia and individual travel agency members within the Consortia.
The role encompasses desk and field sales work (up to six North American sales trips per annum) for both new and developing existing business through the Travel Agency Consortia, including Virtuoso, TravelSavers/The Affluent Traveler, Signature, Internova and Ensemble Travel Networks.
The key focus is on the luxury leisure group and FIT travel sectors covering the UK and Ireland. However, sales meetings will be expected to cover both destinations and all disciplines (including Abbey – The Destination Experts Group and FIT business).
The role will focus on meeting Abbey Group growth KPIs and will be focused on, but not exclusive to, Leisure Groups and FIT. The role requires experience in Agency, Tour Operator and wholesale travel businesses or similar in the North American and Australia, New Zealand source markets.
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
* In conjunction with the Director of Leisure Sales & Marketing, Moloney & Kelly, develop implement and monitor annual sales & marketing strategies.
* Manage relationships with key external partners including international luxury travel agent networks and tourist boards located in market.
* Identify new business opportunities including new tour operating partners, specifically focusing on Luxury FIT and group business from North America, Australia and New Zealand.
* Carry out agreed-upon direct sales activities, including organising and participating in specific sales trips to existing and target clients.
* Assist with arranging appointments for Ireland and UK originating sales trips for Moloney & Kelly DMC in North America, Australia and New Zealand, focusing on both existing and potential clients.
* Represent Moloney & Kelly at international sales & tradeshow events including those organised by relevant tourist boards and travel agency networks.
* Organise agreed agent and client events in North America, Australia and New Zealand, including venue and participant sourcing.
* When appropriate, and by mutual agreement, initiate and organise educational trips to Ireland and the UK to generate more business from North America, Australia and New Zealand for the leisure tourism sector.
* Generate sales leads in North America, Australia, and New Zealand through face-to-face sales calls, social media, and other marketing activities unique to North America, Australia, and New Zealand.
* Where appropriate, follow up on leads, proposals, and quotations generated or originating from Moloney & Kelly Ireland & UK within the Territory.
* Pro-actively and continuously familiarise yourself with maintaining and developing your knowledge of the luxury tourism product in both destinations.
* Provide trade liaison in North America, Australia and New Zealand and where appropriate, follow up on leads, proposals, and quotations generated or originating from Moloney & Kelly.
* Providing specific sales and marketing support for the luxury leisure market segment in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
* As directed by the Director of Leisure Sales & Marketing, Moloney & Kelly, follow the company strategy on source market focus for both destinations, which may vary depending on the destination.
* Provide any additional and specific services as requested by the Director of Leisure Sales & Marketing, Moloney & Kelly or the Board of the Abbey Group.
* Support the Director of Leisure Sales, North America and Sales Managers in agreed sales and marketing activities for Leisure Group sales in North America, Australia and New Zealand
* You will report to the Director of Leisure Sales & Marketing, Moloney & Kelly
* Manage and optimise the CRM system to support targeted marketing, client communications, and segmentation strategies.
* International travel will be required and will be in compliance with the company's Business Travel Policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
* Fluency in spoken and written English.
* Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Tourism or equivalent
* Knowledge of the sales process & function of the DMC in the luxury leisure travel sector
* Knowledge and experience in similar sales roles within the luxury travel market
* Excellent knowledge of the UK & Ireland as luxury tourism destinations
* Proven track record in developing and delivering three-year sales strategies and annual sales plans
* Ability to meet agreed timelines/deadlines.
* Adhering to the work model (Hybrid or Remote work) as part of the agreed contract.
* Results driven team player with excellent communication skills who demonstrates pro-activeness and initiative.
* Willingness to travel - up to six North American sales trips annually and also product familiarisation trips in both the UK and Ireland.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.
* Valid full driver's license
