Position: CAD Manager
Salary: up to £60,000
Hours: Full-Time
Location: Croydon, Surrey
We are looking for a talented and proactive CAD Manager to take a leading role in the production and coordination of MEP designs across a wide range of projects.
You’ll ensure drawings, models, and design information meet the highest technical and quality standards, working closely with engineers across multiple offices to deliver coordinated, accurate, and timely outputs that supports the success of every project.
Software skills
1. AutoCAD – essential
2. Revit – preferred
3. Navisworks – preferred
4. Microsoft Excel / Word – essential
5. IES – desirable
Key responsibilities
6. Produce coordinated 2D MEP drawings to construction level, translating engineer mark-ups and briefs into accurate CAD output
7. Manage drawings, models and documentation in line with project and company standards
8. Ensure coordination across MEP, architectural and structural disciplines
9. Liaise with engineers to manage deadlines and incoming CAD requests, allocating workload across teams
10. Provide hands-on CAD production while mentoring and supporting junior technicians
11. Contribute to design meetings and technical discussions to support project delivery
12. Maintain QA and BIM processes in line with UK regulations and industry standards
13. Oversee document control, drawing issue sheets and digital file management procedures
We’re looking for someone with:
14. 5–10 years’ experience producing MEP drawings using AutoCAD
15. Strong understanding of building services, coordination and construction processes
16. Background within a small to medium-sized consulting engineering environment
17. Proven ability to manage drawing production across multiple projects and deadlines
18. Confident setting up and managing 2D layouts, schematic drawings and MEP models
19. Excellent communication and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
20. Commercially aware with a clear understanding of project delivery timelines
21. Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM and relevant British Standards
22. Collaborative approach, comfortable working across teams and disciplines
