Job title: Autoclave Validation Technician

Department: Microbiology

Location: Hamble, UK (With a Requirement to Travel to Other Local Manufacturing Sites Around Once a Month)

GLS: P1

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours a week

Job summary – What to expect:

As an Autoclave Validation Technician in our Microbiology department, you will provide support for autoclave validation/sterility issues, with responsibility for ensuring all autoclaves are providing sterility for all products within the UK production business units.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Performing autoclave validations in accordance with the company & legislative requirements.
2. Assessing and ensuring any routine/non-routine maintenance work performed on the autoclaves, is documented and does not invalidate prior validations performed.
3. Lifting and moving heavy autoclaves.
4. Ensuring that all sterilisation processes are suitable by performing qualifications and re-qualifications at specified intervals to confirm suitability (including completion of validations and preparation of validation documentation).
5. Maintaining conditions and routine control for all UK sterilisation processes in accordance with our product release requirements.
6. Liaising with other departments to assist and guide in cGMP, and parametric release.
7. Interpreting and presenting data and reports to the company in a concise and informative style.
8. Training company-wide in sterilisation & any associated subjects.
9. Supporting the microbiology department and carrying out any other duties or responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Scientist/Senior Scientist-Microbiology

Experience & Education:

Required

16. Competent in use of basic computer packages. Work, excel, and e-mail.
17. Relevant experience would be an advantage but not essential
18. Formal qualifications are not essential but an HND in a science/engineering discipline would be helpful

Preferred

19. Knowledge in performing Autoclave validations would be desirable but not essential.
20. Experience in working in a Medical Device Industry setting would be desirable but not essential.
21. Formal qualifications are not essential but an HND in a science/engineering discipline would be helpful.

Work Environment:

22. This post involves working within Manufacturing environments. This involves wearing appropriate clothing dependent of area.
23. The post involves working in an office and laboratory environment. This involves wearing a lab coat and there is a need to wear protective gloves when handling waste.
24. This role will require heavy lifting and moving of autoclaves.

Travel Requirements:

25. You will need to travel to our Chandlers Ford sites approximately once a month.
