Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Full‑Time Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a special interest in facial deformity to join the established and supportive Maxillofacial Department at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital provides Oral and Maxillofacial services across Norfolk through close links with adjacent trusts Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn and The James Paget Hospital on the east coast. The head and neck catchment area covers a population of 1.4 million people and also includes Ipswich Hospital which merged with Colchester Hospital to form the East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT). This post will be based primarily at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, with on‑call, in‑patient operating and general clinics performed there. A peripheral clinic may be conducted weekly in one of our adjacent hospitals, subject to discussion and agreement before any changes to the job plan are made.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including consultants, orthodontists, anaesthetists and specialist nursing staff, to deliver high‑quality care to patients requiring orthognathic and facial deformity surgery. The role will involve active participation in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, multidisciplinary team meetings, and audit and teaching activities within the department.
