Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, full time, working Monday to Friday
About the role
Our Waste Management team within Streetscene Services requires a Waste Management Supervisor to support the delivery of efficient, high-quality frontline waste services across the borough.
This is operational supervisory role supports efficient service delivery while maintaining safety and performance standards.
What you will be doing
* Assist the Waste Management Team Leader in delivering waste collection services
* Supervise and monitor collection crews
* Ensure health and safety standards are followed
* Carry out inspections and compliance checks
* Maintain operational records (e.g. vehicle checks, driver hours, service documentation)
* Deputise for the Waste Management Team Leader as required
* Undertake frontline duties including driving and waste collections where needed to cover staff shortages
About you
You will be a strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of working in a frontline operational environment.
You will be able to supervise staff, ensure health and safety standards are maintained and support the delivery of an efficient and effective service.
Essential criteria
* Class C driving licence minimum
* Experience working in a frontline operational or customer orientated environment
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
* Ability to supervise staff and communicate effectively
* Ability to use computerised or handheld devices
* Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role
