Manager - Public Sector Legal Division - North
About the Company:
Our client, a public sector organisation based in Merseyside, is seeking a talented and proactive Litigation Legal Officer/ Paralegal to join their in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of high-impact initiatives that make a real difference to local communities.
About the Role:
This role involves assisting in various legal tasks and supporting the Head of Legal with their caseload.
Responsibilities:
* To assist in drafting legal documents - contracts, statutory notices, orders and other legal letters as allocated and required by client departments.
* To research and analyse documents and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure, in order to keep up to date with changes and developments in the law by reading journals and law reports.
* To work in a team, sometimes referring cases to the Head of Legal Services or Senior Legal Services Officer.
* To check all documentation prior to completion and implementing, including calculating claims for damages, compensation, maintenance etc.
* To carry out such administrative duties as may be allocated from time to time.
* Working closely with the Head of Legal to provide support with their caseload.
Qualifications:
* Experienced Paralegal or Legal Officer.
* Strong background in Litigation.
* Previous experience within a Public Sector organisation is desirable, but not essential.
Required Skills:
* Confident, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
* Previous experience within a Public Sector organisation is desirable, but not essential.
Hourly Rate: £20- £25 per hour
Contract: Full-time, 6 months initially (possibility to extend to 1 year)
Arrangement: Hybrid, 2-3 days a week on site
