We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual who has experience in Safeguarding to join Swansea Bay University Health Boards Safeguarding Team as a Flying Start Clinical Nurse Specialist for Safeguarding.
The post offers an exciting opportunity to work with Swansea Bay University Health Board to provide specialist Safeguarding advice to Health Visitors and Health Board staff. To work closely with the Head of Nursing: Safeguarding to ensure the Health Board discharges its Safeguarding responsibilities and provide a high level consistent approach to Safeguarding practice across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
Provide representation and/or reports for discharge planning meetings, strategy meetings, case conferences, core groups, Children at Risk, Adults at Risk etc. and to be available to advise and support Health Board Flying Start Health Visiting staff as well as other HB staff. Implementing processes to raise staff aware ness of children and adults who may be at risk or have safeguarding issues. Will facilitate improved working practices across the Health Board relating to the protection of children and adults at risk, ensuring they are conforming to current legislation and Regional Safeguarding Board policies. Actively contribute to the Health Board’s Safeguarding agenda through attendance at appropriate Health Board and multi-agency meetings, supporting the Head of Nursing: Safeguarding in providing assurance to the Health Boards Strategic Safeguarding Group, Region al Safeguarding Board, National Safeguarding Service sub groups and other relevant Service Group meetings. Disseminate information on current issues, new practice, government enquiry and legal issues associated with adult and child safeguarding, making appropriate recommendations. Ensure that arrangements are in place for and provide safeguarding children supervision to all staff involved in providing services to children and families and to vulnerable adults who are parents/carers and/or who may pose a risk to children. This frequently involves exposure to highly emotional circumstances.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. NMC registered Health Professional
2. Masters or equivalent experience
3. Excellent specialty knowledge relevant to safeguarding
4. Detailed working knowledge of Wales Safeguarding Procedures and relevant Safeguarding legislation e.g.: Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014, Violence Against Women Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015

7. Significant post registration experience with experience of multi-agency, multi professional working.
8. Working knowledge of audit & assurance processes.
