Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, extending to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The working pattern is Monday to Friday, with participation in weekend work, public holidays, extended hours, and on-call duties.
We are seeking an experienced pharmacist in renal medicine to join the renal pharmacy team at QEUH, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver targeted, safe, and effective pharmaceutical care to complex inpatients.
The QEUH has 65 inpatient renal beds, including 32 high-acuity/transplant beds, with input to the Day Ward and pharmacist-led outpatient clinics. You will support, train, and mentor pharmacists in training, including Foundation trainees and those undertaking the Foundation Pharmacist program or independent prescribing.
Ideal candidates will have confidence, enthusiasm, adaptability, positivity, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and a commitment to CPD aligned with GPhC standards. Postgraduate or independent prescribing qualifications are desirable. Completion of Vocational Training Scheme/Foundation Framework or equivalent experience is essential.
If interested, please contact us for an informal chat. Details are available in the Candidate Information Packs.
