Job Overview
Architectural Technician's are involved across the breadth of our project portfolio, supporting the design team as well as our project management team. Playing a crucial role in the Pentadel team, creating, coordinating and producing detailed technical drawings to coordinate with external contractors, designers and clients across RIBA stages 1-5. The core of Pentadel's work related to the FMGG and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities and Duties
General
* Create detailed 2D and 3D architectural drawings primarily within Revit. Knowledge of AutoCAD will be a plus.
* Transform conceptual ideas into accurate technical drawings.
* Develop a full suite of drawings to be used as the basis for tendering and construction of industrial and commercial premises.
* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and process engineers during the full design phase whilst spatial planning.
* Collaborate with wider project team to ensure seamless communication and coordination between disciplines.
* Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise as needed.
* Stay informed about building regulations to ensure compliance in design documentation from the onset.
* Make necessary adjustments to drawings to meet regulatory requirements, adapt to client needs, and develop ideas.
Design Stages
* Modelling from on site information. (Cloud Point, Topographical, Sketch, Measurement surveys).
* Undertaking measured surveys if required to enable commencement prior to formal surveys being undertaken.
* Advise on likely planning implications and process.
* Knowledge of construction processes'
* Planning application submission and management
* Creation of presentations
* Familiarity with planning validation requirements and how to pre-emptively make the client aware of their obligation.
* Prepare construction documentation sets alongside external specialist contractors and engineers. Ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Assist in the identification and resolution of design issues and design risk registers
* Writing scopes of work to create a guide for trade contractors to price against in conjunction with the drawings developed.
* Development of details as required to fit the relevant work package.
Construction Stage
* Develop and manage construction documentation sets
* Communicate effectively with contractors and construction teams to address questions or concerns. On site and in office.
* Assist in the identification and resolution of construction issues.
* Attend site as required to observe construction progress and develop observational reports.
* Appraise and approve maintenance management information in respect to handover packs for CDM and O&Ms.
* Coordinate construction documentation with external specialist contractors and professionals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude
* Demonstrates broad knowledge of core Architectural concepts
* Understanding of building regulations and construction processes
* Technical expertise in field of Architecture
* Proficient user of AutoCAD
* Proficient user of REVIT
* Good verbal communication skills
* Understanding value engineering

Qualifications
* A relevant degree in architecture, architectural technology or similar with 3 years directly relevant experience
* Holds a full UK driving licence
* Full right to work in the UK
* Construction Management experience beneficial
