We are proud to be partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Conflicts Attorney for their London office. This is a rare opportunity to join a globally recognised firm known for its work with top-tier clients across asset management, private equity, Fortune 500 companies, and major sports and entertainment organisations.
About the Role
As a Conflicts Attorney, you will play a key role in safeguarding the firm’s ethical and regulatory standards across jurisdictions. You’ll be responsible for identifying, analysing, and resolving conflicts of interest related to new business intake and lateral hires, ensuring compliance with both UK and US professional conduct rules.
This role sits within a high-performing global team and offers exposure to complex, cross-border matters. You’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders including the Director of Conflicts Services, the General Counsel’s Office, and the firm’s COLP & MLRO.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and resolve conflicts of interest for new clients, matters, and incoming legal personnel.
* Advise on conflict clearance under SRA Standards and US Model Rules of Professional Conduct.
* Draft and maintain conflict waivers and manage Outside Counsel Guideline compliance.
* Support the implementation of ethical walls and provide training to junior Conflicts staff.
* Liaise with partners, associates, and business services teams across international offices.
* Assist with time-sensitive conflict clearance projects in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified lawyer (JD or UK practicing certificate) with 3+ years’ experience in conflicts analysis within a law firm or financial institution.
* Strong working knowledge of SRA Standards and US Model Rules.
* Proven ability to manage complex conflict scenarios, including transactional matters and lateral partner hires.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
