About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Office Manager to join our busy mainstream secondary school in Bury on a temporary basis with an immediate start. This is a key role within the school, leading a small administrative team while ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a fast-paced school office.
The successful candidate will be proactive, resilient, and confident managing competing priorities in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and support a small administrative team
Oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy school office
Ensure effective communication between staff, students, parents, and external agencies
Maintain and manage pupil records and school data systems
Support senior leadership with administrative and organisational tasks
Manage admissions processes and attendance administration
Oversee office systems, procedures, and compliance requirements
Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in an Office Manager (or similar senior administrative) role
Experience working within a school environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
High level of IT competency
Highly Desirable
Strong working knowledge of the Arbor school Management Information System (MIS)
Experience using the Arbor IT system will be hugely advantageous and candidates with direct Arbor experience will be prioritised.
