IO Interactive is an independent video game development and publishing company with studios in Copenhagen, Malmö, Barcelona, Brighton, and Istanbul. We are known for creating popular multiplatform video games and are powered by our proprietary Glacier technology.
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Backbone team. This role involves designing and building our hybrid cloud infrastructure, supporting cloud-native workloads, desktop, and console platforms. You will contribute to infrastructure technologies and support the development of our Glacier game engine and AAA titles like Hitman, Project Fantasy, and a new James Bond game.
As a Platform Engineer in the Developer Services division, you will work with IT and game developers to establish our next-generation build farm, orchestrate game servers, and support services. Your responsibilities include selecting cloud-native technologies, setting up Kubernetes clusters, storage, networking, and developing middleware in Golang.
Responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with Developers and IT teams to design and deliver infrastructure solutions.
* Driving continuous improvement and embedding DevOps practices.
* Deploying and operating Kubernetes systems focusing on reliability and observability.
* Supporting our private cloud, build farms, storage, and orchestration systems.
* Contributing to platform architecture decisions, tooling, and DevOps practices.
* Writing efficient code in Golang for automation and infrastructure services.
Ideal candidates will have:
* Experience in infrastructure or IT operations with automation tools.
* Expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, and Public Cloud platforms; experience with Private Cloud and bare metal systems is a plus.
* Proficiency in infrastructure automation and Golang.
* Strong networking knowledge, including load balancing and troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with DevOps and SRE methodologies, GitOps, IaC, and CI/CD.
* Proactive attitude, curiosity, and motivation to improve platform reliability and mentor peers.
