Salary up to £75,000 negotiable D.O.E. Welcome Bonus of up to £5,000 and Relocation allowance up to £5,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Grove Vets, Barrow-in-Furness! Working on a range of general practice 1st opinion caseloads including but not limited to dentals, diagnostic imaging and orthopaedic cases. We have a hydrotherapy unit working on rehabilitation of patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery as well as clients with osteoarthritis and weigh management. One of our RVN’s has just signed up to a physiotherapy and rehabilitation course to run alongside and support with the hydrotherapy unit. Another our surgeons has a qualification in Ophthalmology plus we have a visiting cardiologist specialist that’s visits the practice throughout the year and enables our team to be involved in these cases.
Consults are around 15-minutes with time for case work ups, we encourage clinical freedom and case continuity and can provide help and support from our experienced team. We are looking for someone who is friendly, enthusiastic and a good team player.
We can offer up to a maximum of 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days with a 1 in 4 weekend rota for Saturdays, we do not open on Sundays. We can be flexible and will consider both part time, flexible working and would be happy to chat through these options in more detail, our people are at the heart of everything we do, that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our teams.
About Us
We are Grove Vets in Cumbria, and we live in a beautiful part of the world. With nature reserves, Islands, mountains, and outdoor sports all on our doorstep. We have x-rays, dental x-ray, Ultrasound, lab, hydrotherapy and soon to be getting K-lazer to aid with rehab. We have multiple beaches, and the lake district just a short drive or bus away.
About the Team and Culture
We currently have 5 RVNs, 4 Vets, 4 support roles. 2 of our vets are specialist for health certs and travel. All our vets have been in practice for years (some 20years) which hopefully shows we are a positive practice to work for.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a veterinary surgeon with some post qualification experience, and who is confident in consultations and basic surgery spays, castrates and dentals.
