Are you a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next role? We’re seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our friendly team in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. This role is reasonably commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Darlington, Aldborough, Langthorpe, Skipton, Ripon, Knaresborough, Harrogate, York, Wetherby, Dishforth, Topcliffe, Thirsk and the surrounding areas. We support a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities
* Lead on the commercial delivery of a number of Highway Maintenance contracts within the Highway Services Business of Contracting.
* Oversee month-end reporting and contribute to the strategic delivery of the business; assist local contract delivery teams in achieving financial results and tendering new opportunities.
* Work in a similar industry with experience preferred in Highways, Infrastructure, or Maintenance Projects.
* Be an experienced manager within the commercial team; support and manage Quantity Surveyors.
* Build strong relationships with internal and client counterparts; manage team members to reach their full potential.
* Manage and support commercial projects from pre-contract through to completion; maximise contract returns and forecast across all team works.
* Direct engagement and management of sub-contracts including tender inquiries, awards, and assessment of monthly payment applications.
* Support the production of monthly Cost Variance Reports (CVRs).
* Produce internal and client forecasts delivering against budgeted targets.
* Substantiate through to agreement of Final Accounts and ensure risk is minimised by following Tarmac and client processes.
* Ensure work is accurately valued and progressed to cash collection; manage, prepare, and submit monthly payment applications to clients.
* Issue early warning notices and compensation events where applicable.
Due to the nature of the work, a company vehicle or car allowance is included and you must have a FULL UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
The Ideal Candidate
* ESSENTIAL - NEC3/4 experience
* Customer exposure with National Highways or other large government organisations is highly beneficial
* BSc or MSc Degree in Quantity Surveying
* Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
* Excellent oral and written communication, presentation skills, with strong numeracy and analytical ability
* Process-driven with strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
