📍 Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional site visits
📅 Contract: Long-term engagement 12 months rolling contract

Mechanical systems are the heartbeat of wastewater treatment. From pump stations to sludge handling, your designs will directly influence operational efficiency, environmental performance, and public health outcomes.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
* Design mechanical systems for treatment plants, pumping stations, and sludge processes
* Develop P&IDs, GA drawings, equipment layouts, and technical specifications
* Select and size pumps, valves, blowers, compressors, and pipelines
* Conduct hydraulic calculations and energy efficiency assessments
* Collaborate with civil, electrical, ICA, and process engineers
* Support procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
* Ensure compliance with BS EN, ISO, WIMES, and CDM regulations
* Promote sustainable and low-carbon design solutions
🎯 What You’ll Need
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc)
* 3–7+ years in wastewater or water infrastructure design
* Experience with rotating equipment, pressure systems, and pipework
* Skilled in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, SolidWorks, or Revit MEP
* Familiarity with WIMES, BS EN 806, BS 5955
* Strong communication and documentation skills
⭐ Bonus Skills
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward it
* Experience with sludge treatment, biogas, or renewable integration
* Knowledge of BIM workflows and digital twin technologies
* 3D modelling and clash detection (e.g., Navisworks)
* Prior work with UK water utilities or international projects
