Up to 125 per day Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures is working with a large, well-regarded secondary school in Newham to appoint a dedicated and confident Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral support team from September 2025.
The school has a strong, supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and a proactive approach to student wellbeing. You'll be working across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students with a range of behavioural needs—some of whom require consistent structure, 1:1 support, and emotional regulation strategies.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in youth mentoring, pastoral support, or SEMH provision, looking to make a meaningful impact in a structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behaviour or SEMH needs
 * Monitor behaviour patterns and implement early interventions
 * Support students throughout the school day – in class, at social times, and during transitions
 * Work alongside Heads of Year and Safeguarding leads to deliver personalised behaviour plans
 * Help reintegrate students following incidents, exclusions, or pastoral interventions
 * Build trusted relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Ideal Candidate Will Have
 * Experience supporting young people with behavioural needs or SEMH challenges
 * A calm, confident and consistent approach to behaviour management
 * Background in schools, PRUs, youth work or pastoral care is desirable
 * Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
 * Ability to work well within a team and under the guidance of SLT and Heads of Year
