We are a cutting‑edge biotechnology startup developing novel interventions to rejuvenate hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and restore healthy blood and immune function in the context of bone marrow stem cell transplantation.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Research Assistant to join our preclinical research team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our in vitro and in vivo studies aimed at understanding and enhancing HSC function. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative startup environment with substantial hands‑on responsibility and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Cell Culture:
* Maintain and differentiate primary murine and human cells including hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.
* Perform colony forming unit (CFU) assay.
* Prepare and manage culture reagents and media.
Flow Cytometry:
* Perform multiparametric flow cytometry for phenotypic and functional analysis of HSCs.
* Stain and process samples, perform compensation and gating analyses.
Animal Studies (Mouse Work):
* Assist with colony management and experimental procedures (e.g., bone marrow transplantation, blood collection, tissue harvest).
* Monitor animal health and ensure adherence to PPL.
* Collect and process biological samples from in vivo experiments.
General Laboratory Support:
* Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records.
* Prepare solutions, manage inventory, and ensure lab organisation and compliance with safety regulations.
* Contribute to data analysis, presentation preparation, and team discussions.
Qualifications
Required:
* BSc in relevant subject required.
* PIL AB Licence.
* Experience with laboratory animals (mouse handling, tissue collection).
* Hands‑on experience with mammalian cell culture.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow protocols precisely.
Preferred:
* MRes or equivalent in relevant subject required.
* Experience with hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells or bone marrow isolation.
* Familiarity with flow cytometry.
