Overview
We are seeking a skilled Workshop Service Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and assembling various types of equipment within our workshop environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, be proficient with hand and power tools, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where safety, precision, and technical expertise are paramount.
Responsibilities
* Conduct routine maintenance and repair of equipment using appropriate tools and techniques
* Interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to facilitate repairs and assembly tasks
* Perform assembly of components and machinery according to specifications
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
* Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions promptly
* Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications as required
* Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs
* Assist in training junior team members when necessary
* Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
* Proven experience with schematics, mechanical systems, and equipment repair
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately
* Experience in maintenance routines and preventative care for machinery
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential
