Learning Support Assistant (RAISE) - The Phoenix Collegiate
Phoenix Collegiate is seeking a highly capable, flexible and motivated Learning Support Assistant to provide effective learning support and enhance the quality of pastoral care for students whose education is provided outside of the mainstream. You will act as a role model, promoting self-esteem, helping to enforce discipline and establishing productive working relationships with students as part of a close-knit team in our RAISE Centre.
Overview
Location: Phoenix, Clarkes Lane, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B71 2BX
Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Grade B – £24,027 - £24,404 (full-time equivalent); actual salary £15,395 – £16,185 after adjustment for reduced hours and weeks. Special Needs Allowance £989 p.a.
Responsibilities
* Support in the delivery of learning sessions in subject areas across the school curriculum.
* Work in the classroom with small groups of students to deliver interventions.
* Promote self-esteem, discipline and establish productive working relationships with students as part of the RAISE team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of working with children, ideally in a secondary school setting (not essential).
* GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English as a minimum.
