We have an excellent opportunity at Thames Water to join us as a Field Operations Specialist covering Home Counties North, including Windsor, Slough, and Maple Cross. The role involves conducting field investigations into complex operational problems within our wastewater network, identifying solutions to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. The position also includes facilitating confined space work.
This role will be approximately 60% in the field and 40% in the office. Once fully trained, you will be part of an out-of-hours rota.
What you will be doing as a Field Operations Specialist
* Coordinating complex planned and reactive technical activities to ensure maximum effectiveness with minimal customer impact.
* Providing technical support to resolve problems and ensure a robust, stable, and efficient network.
* Offering information on maintenance and improvements to the Network Strategy team and assisting with contingency planning.
* Being the main contact for emergency works in your area, ensuring contractors work safely and comply with procedures.
* Planning and collaborating with delivery partners for asset maintenance activities.
* Auditing contractors to ensure work meets Thames Water standards and compliance.
* Delivering crisis management plans to minimize service disruptions.
* Working with field teams and the customer solution centre to identify and resolve complex problems.
Base Location:
Maple Lodge (STW), Slough, or Maidenhead
Working Pattern:
36 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Requirements for the role:
* Full clean UK driving licence
What you should bring to the role
* Good civils technical experience; experience in waste infrastructure is beneficial but not essential.
* Skilled in finding cost-effective solutions to complex network issues.
* A strong commitment to health and safety, with persistence in your methods.
* Experience managing third-party contractors.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft Office.
