The opportunity to deliver Infrastructure’s vision. AtkinsRéalis UK&E Infrastructure business covers advisory and multi-disciplinary design and management from inception to delivery support. We are growing and seeking a Senior Proposal Manager to lead and win strategically important priority pursuits across all markets. Working within Infrastructure’s Win Work Team, you will engage with Market and Practice teams, and others across the company to deliver the business-critical portfolio using AtkinsRéalis' Win Work Lifecycle and Service Delivery Process.
Role Requirements
* Track record of leading and winning both strategic and regional bids.
* Experience with structured bid processes (e.g., Miller Heiman Blue Sheets, Shipley) and using them to drive high-quality bid submissions.
* Demonstrable experience influencing bids to deliver successful outcomes.
* Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver winning bids (PQQs and ITTs) on time.
* Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentational and facilitation – with external and internal contacts at various levels.
* Good commercial awareness/understanding.
* Ability to undertake tasks within demanding timescales.
* Analytical skills with the ability to present reasoned arguments supported by evidence.
* Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Role Responsibilities
* Review client documents prior to kick-off and produce an opportunity summary for the wider team.
* Oversee the delivery of all bid process aspects from strategy to feedback (EOI, PQQ, ITT).
* Plan and manage bids from outset to closure, keeping up to date with client changes to requirements to stay compliant.
* Promote the use of AtkinsRéalis win work tools and stay up to date on new tools in the Win Work Hub.
* Collaborate with technical leads, authors and bid team members to submit a compelling bid submission.
* Create and manage SharePoint sites and MS Teams sites for bid activities.
* Provide leadership and facilitation of strategic bids: win themes, answer planning, storyboarding, bid writing/editing, and reviews.
* Ensure compliance with AtkinsRéalis procedures and best practice.
* Lead production of high-quality proposals and collateral to promote AtkinsRéalis messaging and brand.
* Act as escalation point for bid teams and manage resistance positively.
* Ensure bid governance and review processes are followed.
* Contribute to initiatives to improve bid quality, cost effectiveness, and system compliance.
* Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to grow credibility and demonstrate the value of the win work team.
* Lead production of the bid submission in keeping with corporate guidelines.
The Individual
* Proven track record delivering strategic and regional bids from inception through EOI, PQQ, ITT, client interviews, feedback and lessons learned.
* Experience leading bid teams from strategy to delivery of outcomes.
* Results-oriented, inspiring, hard-working and flexible manager who works well in a team.
* Strong influencing skills to maximise expert knowledge on opportunities.
* Mobile and flexible with travel across the UK as required by the Win Work role.
* Competent bid writer able to create/edit bid narratives and support others to improve responses before review stages.
* Oversee bid progress and take corrective action to submit on time and to high quality.
* Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and with external partners when bidding in partnerships or joint ventures.
* Maximise use of Office365, Copilot, InDesign, MS Project, MS Dynamics CRM and sales techniques such as Miller Heiman and Huthwaite.
* Degree level or equivalent professional qualifications preferred.
* APMP Foundation level desirable.
* InDesign capability desirable.
