An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced LGV Fitter to join a busy and expanding transport operation. In this role, you will carry out maintenance and repair work on a wide range of fleet vehicles, including LGVs, vans, Land Rovers, forklifts, and trailers. You will be part of a close-knit garage team that supports a large and active fleet operation, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high standard and remain compliant with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out maintenance and repairs on company fleet vehicles, including LGVs, vans, and other vehicles.
Maintain and repair mechanical handling equipment, including forklifts.
Service and repair generator trailers and other fleet trailers.
Source and purchase vehicle parts when required, liaising with relevant team members to manage costs effectively.
Attend vehicle breakdowns as needed and provide out-of-hours breakdown cover on a rota basis (allowance paid).
Record all work completed and ensure servicing schedules comply with Operator Licence requirements.
Deliver and collect equipment using company vehicles where required, including refuelling duties.
Support general yard operations, including loading and unloading equipment.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with company Health & Safety policies at all times.
Follow ISO procedures and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Skills and Experience Required:
HGV Class 1 (C + E) licence – essential
City & Guilds or equivalent Light & Heavy Vehicle Technicians Certificate – essential
Proven experience as an LGV Fitter – essential
Digital Tachograph card – essential
Driver CPC training – desirable
ADR licence – desirable
Forklift licence – desirable
