Role Overview
Associate Director Transport Planner This role is based in WSP's central Guildford office and supports hybrid working, combining office and home time.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a broad range of transport planning projects, overseeing project team management, collaboration, budgeting, programming and technical excellence.
* Prepare bids, fee proposals and project programmes, supporting senior colleagues and client development.
* Expand WSP’s work with UK clients, securing and delivering work for a diverse local client portfolio.
* Lead technical review and checking of deliverables within the team.
* Manage financial performance of projects and contribute to the commercial performance of the team.
* Support the development of junior team members as a people manager or mentor.
* Contribute actively to WSP's core pillars: People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Expertise.
* Collaborate with Transport Decarbonisation, Sustainability and Future Mobility teams on innovative strategies for public sector clients.
Qualifications
* Experience working with local authorities on active travel, public transport, scheme development, transport studies, strategies and appraisals.
* Experience developing transport-focused strategies, plans and policies.
* Experience with Local Authority and Combined Authority clients.
* Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
* Excellent presentation skills and ability to liaise with diverse audiences including public sector officials and stakeholders.
* Project management experience, including reviewing client briefs, tenders, fee proposals and leading project delivery.
* Commercial acumen and the ability to support wider team management and develop junior members.
