About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to be one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison located in Full Sutton near York.
HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. As part of the government’s drive to cut reoffending, prisoners spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release.
Hours
Full time, 37.5 hours a week.
You will be working on a 10‑week rolling rota as follows:
* Week 1: 3 long days (6.45 am‑7.15 pm)
* Week 2: 2 long days (6.45 am‑7.15 pm) plus weekend (8.00 am‑5.45 pm)
Salary
Annual salary up to £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK, and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high‑quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration at all times a need to maintain a high level of security.
* Hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison service’s needs.
* Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes, and medicines.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Requirements
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Up-to-date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
