Business Development Executive - Quality Standards

Centre for Assessment (CfA) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Executive within their Quality Standards team. The role will focus on increasing the volume and value of new accreditation service clients by supporting the coordination of marketing campaigns, nurturing leads, and consultatively selling to convert opportunities into assessments.

CfA help organisations across the UK and internationally achieve high-quality certification and assessment standards. Our highly skilled team of auditors and assessors work closely with clients to provide a professional, value-adding, and client-focused service, ensuring businesses meet compliance and quality requirements while supporting their growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and coordinate local sales campaigns to increase the number of prospective leads for CfA’s quality standard services.
2. Win new quality standards business by identifying and nurturing potential clients through workshops, telephone, and virtual meetings.
3. Carry out initial telephone diagnostics to understand client needs and provide light-touch advice and sales support for straightforward requirements.
4. Arrange appointments for yourself and/or colleagues with potential client organisations to build understanding of their needs.
5. Use effective questioning and listening skills to uncover the client’s true needs, going beyond surface requirements to add real value and position quality standards and accreditations as a valuable commercial resource.
6. Effectively manage a portfolio of leads and quotations for CfA’s accreditation services (assessment, advisory, and consultancy), converting them into confirmed sales.
7. Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with partner organisations, networks, and practitioners to strengthen market presence, generate referrals, and win new business.
8. Work with Marketing and other colleagues to arrange, publicise, and deliver events, campaigns, and social media content to increase lead generation.

10. Strong planning, organisational, and project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
11. Personable, approachable, and professional, building trust with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
12. Motivated and innovative, identifying opportunities and stimulating sales activity.
13. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and client needs.

Skills Required:

14. Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development, ideally across multiple sectors.
15. Strong business-need diagnostic and problem-solving skills, providing tailored solutions to clients.
16. Effective use of IT and CRM systems, spreadsheets, digital platforms, and email for business operations.
17. Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills to generate referrals and grow relationships.
18. Knowledge of relevant standards or sector-specific challenges (. Matrix, Trusted Standard, Lexcel).
19. Ability to work collaboratively within teams and across partner organisations while delivering high-quality outcomes.
