Cloud Security Architect - Remote - £90,000 + Benefits
We are a fast-growing SaaS company based in Cambridge, delivering innovative, data-driven solutions to clients across highly regulated industries. Security, Scalability, and reliability are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for a talented Cloud Security Architect to join our team.
The Role
You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with our engineering and security teams to embed security into every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring our platforms remain resilient, compliant, and trusted by our clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Build, maintain, and improve secure, scalable AWS infrastructure.
* Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on security best practices.
* Embed security controls, monitoring, and automation across the SDLC.
* Collaborate with software engineers, QA, and product teams to ensure secure design and deployment.
* Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat modelling, and risk mitigation.
* Support compliance requirements in highly regulated environments.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working as a Security Architect or DevSecOps Engineer in a cloud-first environment.
* Hands-on experience with AWS services and tooling.
* Strong background in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
* Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar).
* Strong understanding of security frameworks, controls, and monitoring in cloud environments.
* Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of compliance requirements in secure/public sector environments.
Desirable
* Prior experience working within the UK public sector or highly regulated industries.
* SC clearance (or eligibility to obtain it).
* Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, or similar standards.
