The role
As a Plant, Tool and Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing reactive and planned maintenance on plant, tools, and equipment (PTE) procured by the MEH Alliance on the HPC project. You will also provide familiarization to teams using PTE and ensure proper use and standards are maintained.
* Repair and manage on-site plant, tools, and equipment for the MEH Alliance.
* Provide training to teams on the use of PTE.
* Suggest improvements for better PTE management and recommend better products where applicable.
This role involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, and standing for extended periods. It is a full-time position, 38 hours per week, based on-site at Hinkley Point C.
Essential experience (3-5 years):
* Maintaining small tools and plant, including repairs.
* Electrical and mechanical knowledge for larger plant items.
* Understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
* Knowledge of LEV, welding, and calibration procedures for survey equipment.
* IT systems knowledge.
Qualifications:
* Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Q) (Light Vehicles).
* Level 2 Progression Award in Automotive Servicing & Repair.
* Level 3 Apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
* CCNSG safety passport.
Security Clearance: The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance.
