Work Pattern: Thursday and Friday, 2.30pm - 5.30pm.
West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning Childcare Officer to join our Linnvale Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
The role involves supporting the development of an Out of School Care team/service, ensuring the delivery of a flexible, high-quality out of school care service that meets the needs of children and their families.
You will support the Senior Early Learning and Childcare Officer (Out of School Care) in maintaining quality provision, supporting best practices, and implementing priorities for improvement to ensure positive outcomes for children.
The Early Learning and Child Care Service provides childcare for children aged 3-5 and out-of-school services for primary-aged children.
Applicants should have experience working with pre-school children in a relevant setting and possess knowledge of the Curriculum of Excellence (early level) and pre-birth to three-year-old guidance. Flexibility and adaptability are essential qualities.
Candidates must hold the NNEB (or modular equivalent), HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ2 Social Services (Children and Young People), or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). If not already registered with SSSC, successful candidates will need to register within 3 months of appointment.
Requirements
This position is a regulated role under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to join or update their PVG scheme membership before a formal offer is made.
Responsibilities
