Behaviour Support Mentor – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

Daily Rate: £89 – £105 (PAYE)
Overview:
A specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Stockport is seeking a confident and emotionally intelligent Behaviour Mentor to support secondary-aged students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The role is ideal for candidates with a background in youth work, psychology, or behaviour intervention.
Responsibilities:
* Support students aged 11–16 with complex behavioural and emotional needs.
* Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
* Deliver short intervention sessions focusing on behaviour, resilience and engagement.
* Work alongside teaching staff to implement behaviour strategies and re-engagement plans.
* Support with behaviour de-escalation and restorative practice.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in youth work, alternative provision or PRUs is essential.
* Ability to remain calm and confident under pressure.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and positive behaviour approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
