Job Summary
Park Lane Surgery are looking to recruit a part‑time receptionist/administrator to join our small but busy GP Practice.
16.25 hours per week (with additional hours for holiday and sickness cover).
Shift pattern to be confirmed; some flexibility needed within Monday‑Friday 07:45‑18:30. Use of information technology is essential – proficiency with computers is required. Prior experience with SystmOne clinical system is an advantage, but training will be provided.
Salary: National Living Wage, depending on experience.
Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Part‑time.

Main duties
* Front desk reception including meeting and greeting patients.
* Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries via phone, face‑to‑face and the practice website.
* Booking, cancelling and rescheduling appointments using Rapid Health triage system and other booking platforms; assist patients with online booking and complete forms on‑site.
* Care navigation and repeat prescription requests.
* Patient registrations and processing changes to patient information.
* Opening and closing premises, handling visitors and maintaining the visitors book.
* Executing and handling repeat prescriptions, checking names and addresses.
* Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, email and physical correspondence.
* Establishing, maintaining and securing filing and administrative systems.
* Scanning and filing patient records and correspondence into the medical records system.
* Maintaining the computer clinical system accurately and securely.
* Assisting nurses with ordering vaccines or medical supplies.
* Providing cover for the reception/administration team during sickness or annual leave.
* Attending practice and reception meetings as required.
* Adhering to the confidentiality policy and safeguarding procedures.

Job Description
The receptionist is responsible for the day‑to‑day reception and administrative duties within the practice; ensuring the smooth running of both reception and administrative functions. They provide administrative and clerical support to the clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
Person Specification
* Essential: Good communication skills; ability to work in a stressful, busy environment; team player; basic IT skills.
* Qualifications: GCSE grades A to C in English and Mathematics.
* Experience: Customer Service.
* Desirable: Working in a GP practice.
