This role is perfect for an experienced teaching assistant who is interested in exploring their skills as a teacher. Our partner school is looking for a teaching assistant who has what it takes to be work across the school with small groups of pupils, 1:1 with pupils who need the supporting and even teach classes. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) you will work across the school as a teaching assistant but must always be ready to be called upon to lead a class.
This role is perfect for an experienced teaching assistant who is interested in exploring their skills as a teacher. You will need a good understanding of the KS1/2 national curriculum, experience as a teaching assistant in primary education and finally a passion for educating young people.
Higher-level Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Deliver planned lessons under the direction of a teacher.
Supervise and support pupils, as well as manage classroom behaviour.
Approach each child’s education with a unique approach.
Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to pupil reports.
Ability to deliver lessons and manage a class effectively while adapting learning activities for different abilities and needs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, whilst communicating effectively.
Provide emotional and social support to pupils when needed.
Participate in training and development activities.
Keep up to date with educational practices and safeguarding requirements.
Higher-level Teaching Assistant Requirements:
HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, usually at grade C/4 or above.
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
Strong understanding of the KS1/2 primary national curriculum.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards children’s learning.
Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
