We are looking for a charismatic, determined and confident person who has the ability and skills to engage hard to reach groups and disengaged students, as well as to develop and co-ordinate activities that promote social cohesion and integration. You will provide the first response to incidents across the College site; assist Managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues and to implement de-escalation techniques and restorative justice. You will act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases (in liaison with the Safeguarding team), gathering evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures as per the Safeguarding policy. It is essential that you hold GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent at C/4 grade or above. You should also have a Level 3 qualification in the relevant subject area, eg, Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work. Experience of working with young people (including 14-19 year-olds) and vulnerable adults and those with challenging behaviour is essential. You will have experience of working in Further Education and be able to deliver training in the workplace. You must have knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults including Prevent and the Equality Act 2010. It is essential you have experience of working with Microsoft applications, including a working knowledge of databases. Holding a First Aid Certificate and Door Supervisor’s certification or equivalent is desirable.
