Overview

Housing Accommodation Manager Scale 7 £45,091 to £48,226 per annum 37 hours per week Permanent.

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Housing Accommodation Manager to join our Housing Services Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality housing services to make a real difference in people’s lives.


What You’ll Do

* Lead and manage a small team of officers delivering temporary accommodation services.
* Oversee tenant move-ins and move-outs, including removals, storage, and liaison with council tax, benefits, and other services.
* Negotiate with landlords and private sector providers to secure accommodation.
* Manage contracts and procurement of services linked to temporary housing.
* Ensure compliance with homelessness legislation, housing law, and council policy.
* Provide expert advice on accommodation services and ensure high standards of practice.
* Monitor team performance, carry out appraisals, and support staff development.
* Work in partnership with key agencies to reduce homelessness and manage service risks.


Essential Criteria

* Detailed knowledge of homelessness legislation, housing law, and welfare benefits.
* Leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Experience working in a housing service, dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
* Strong negotiation skills with landlords and service providers.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and partnership-working skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and deliver results.
* A full driving licence


Desirable Qualifications

* CIH Level 5, Degree, or Chartered Institute of Housing membership.

This role will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). All offers of employment will be made conditional upon receipt of the satisfactory DBS check.
