The East Sussex Careers Hub exists to inspire and prepare young people for the world of work, connecting schools, colleges, and employers across the county to create meaningful opportunities and raise aspirations. By joining the team, you will directly contribute to shaping career pathways and helping young people thrive.
As a Project Officer you will support projects focused on helping young people thrive and explore the world of work, including initiatives in secondary, further education, SEND, Alternative Provision and primary school settings. You will support delivery of projects focusing on the recruitment of employers as Industry Champions and helping schools access “Open Doors” workplace visits.
Responsibilities
* Support and deliver community projects that engage young people with potential employers.
* Coordinate employer recruitment for Industry Champions programmes.
* Organise and facilitate open‑door workplace visits for schools.
* Ensure timely communication with schools, colleges, employment partners and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
* Can manage varied workloads in an enthusiastic, organised manner and can work confidently to short deadlines.
* Communicates clearly and effectively with a wide range of people.
* Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and database systems.
Legal and Practical Information
* Position is hybrid, fixed‑term until 31 August 2027.
* Requires an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity. Overseas police checks may be required.
