Main area Assessment Service Mental Health Professional – Mental Health Access and brief Treatment Team (Grade Band 6) – Contract Permanent. 22.5 hours per week. Job ref 201-26-247-C.
Site: MHABTT Mid and West ICA Town Truro, Penzance. Salary £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (pro rata). Closing date 14/06/2026 23:59.
Main duties
This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel throughout the county and managing referral triage and initial assessment.
You will work in partnership with GPs, other referring agencies, and community mental health teams such as Early Interventions in Psychosis, Home Treatment Team, and Talking Therapies.
The assessment service is currently developing, offering an opportunity to contribute to new ways of working.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
- Relevant professional registration – RMN, OT, SW, RNLD.
- Evidence of post-basics training.
- Current professional registration.
- Sign Off Mentor (SOM) qualification as per NMC to sign‑off students.
Experience
- Registered mental health professional with substantial post‑registration experience.
- Previous experience working in a community setting.
