Join our dedicated rheumatology and hand teams here at University Hospital Bristol and Weston, in a fixed term 0.5 WTE post until 31/05 / 26 as a B and 6 O ccupational T herapist.
Our team s are made up of senior occupational therapists, physiotherapists and a technical instructor. We work closely with the medical teams, surgeons and nursing staff to provide the best possible care to our patients .
Using advanced clinical reasoning skills, you will provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition and formulate an appropriate evidence-based management package.
This will include treatment interventions such as prescription of exercise/ rehabilitation programme s in line with evidence-based practice, activity modification/advice, splinting, provision of orthoses, wound management and advice/education.

Both teams are situated at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. You will be predominantly based in the Rheumatology Department (Level 5, King Edward Building), but will also work in the Hand Rehabilitation Unit (Level 1, Physiotherapy).

Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
* • Completed a broad range of rotations as a qualified OT
* • Relevant clinical experience in managing patients with long term conditions
* • Clinical exposure to managing patients with hand and upper limb dysfunction
* • Experience of making a range of hand splints
* • Previous experience at band 6
Experience and Skills
* • Experience of working alongside and delegating to therapy support staff
* • Experience of contributing to the clinical education and development of less experienced staff, students or therapy technicians
* • Ability to delegate effectively to others
* • Experience of deputising for senior colleagues
Skills and Abilities
* • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
