At Catnic, we are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join the team. In this role, you will report to the Maintenance Engineer and support the Operations team by performing repairs, undertaking preventative maintenance activities, and promoting engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability, quality, and productivity are optimized.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and repair processing machinery and ancillary equipment safely and efficiently to maximize availability at optimal cost, adhering to company standards and procedures.
2. Contribute to the development and coordination of preventative maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime.
3. Understand, implement, and recommend improvements to production control procedures to support team performance.
4. Ensure all operations, including those by third-party service providers, comply with Tata health & safety, quality, environmental, and corporate policies.
5. Engage in personal development to enhance performance and support business succession planning.
6. Assist in the preparation of team operational and financial budgets to ensure resource availability.
7. Collaborate with management, other functions, and third parties to meet team objectives and resolve issues.
Candidate Requirements:
* Time-served with demonstrated initiative, drive, and commitment.
* Qualified to ONC/HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing demands.
* Ability to work safely under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
* Broad mechanical engineering knowledge.
* Proactive safety approach.
* Welding/Fabricating skills (desirable).
* Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
