Overview
Nottinghamshire County Council seeks two enthusiastic and motivated Residential Social Care Workers to join our dedicated team at The Big House, a warm, welcoming short‑breaks home in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire. We provide high‑quality care and support for children with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, offering them fun, safe, and enriching experiences while giving families valuable respite. Key Responsibilities
* Providing high‑quality care and support to children with intellectual disabilities.
* Meeting the physical, emotional, and health care needs of the children.
* Engaging in activities that promote their development and well‑being.
* Working collaboratively with team members to create a safe and supportive environment.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to care plans.
* Participating in shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting or school.
* Experience supporting children or adults with learning difficulties.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.

Working Hours & Benefits
* Early shifts: 6:30/7:00 am – 3:00 pm
* Late shifts: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
* A rota system, working two weekends out of three, with a 12‑week advance schedule for planning.
